![]() Adam - interludes has recently been released on cd by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. (RCO 09003 Horizon 2- a tribute to Olivier Messiaen) The work, containing sections of Zuidam's opera Adam in Ballingschap, was commissioned by the orchestra in 2008 to commemorate Messiaen's 100th birthday and received its first performances in June '08 during the Holland Festival, conducted by Ingo Metzmacher. In January 2010 the Concertgebouw Orchestra gave two new performances of Adam-interludes, led by Markus Stenz. (see review) Further performances of the work are planned by a.o. the Noord Nederlands Orkest in May 2011. Previously, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra performed Zuidam´s Trance Position, with Ingo Metzmacher, in Amsterdam and Paris in May 2007, and Trance Figuration, conducted by Peter Ruzicka in September 2004.
