Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra to perform Trance Position

In May 2007, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, conducted by Ingo Metzmacher, will perform Zuidam's Trance Position, on a concert also featuring music by Berg (Der Wein and Drei bruchstucke aus 'Wozzeck') and Reger (Vier Tondichtungen). Concerts are scheduled on May 25th (Amsterdam, Concertgebouw) and May 31st (Paris, Cité de la Musique). Trance Position is the second movement of Trance Symphonies, a four movement-orchestra work of roughly an hour long, composed between 1991/'97. Previously, in September 2004, the Concertgebouw Orchestra performed Trance Figuration, conducted by Peter Ruzicka. The Concertgebouw Orchestra has commissioned Zuidam to write a new piece for the 2007/08 season
